Your data

The text and files you put into FileKiln tools are processed entirely in your browser by client-side JavaScript. They are not transmitted to, stored on, or readable by our servers. We have no database of user content because no user content ever reaches us.

Email updates

The home page has a box for email updates. That box is separate from the tools. If you type your email address there and press the button, the address goes to Kit, the email service we use to send the updates, and nothing else goes with it. We send a short email when something new is out, about once a month, and every email has an unsubscribe link. We do not sell, rent or share the list. To have your address deleted, write to us through the contact page.

Analytics and advertising

Pages may include privacy-respecting traffic measurement and may display advertising served by third-party networks such as Google AdSense. Ad networks may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads; see how Google uses information from partner sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings.

Cookie consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland)

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a consent message (provided by Google's certified consent management platform) is shown before any personalized advertising cookies are used. You can consent, decline, or manage purposes individually; declining shows non-personalized ads. Your choice can be changed at any time via the ad privacy link or your browser's site settings. Under the GDPR, UK GDPR, the CCPA, Brazil's LGPD, and Canada's PIPEDA you hold rights of access, correction, and deletion over personal data an operator stores about you - and because FileKiln's tools run entirely in your browser with no accounts and no upload, the site itself holds none from them. The only personal data we keep is an email address you choose to give for updates, described above. FileKiln is not directed at children under 13 and knowingly collects no information from anyone under 13. If you believe data is being processed unlawfully, you may complain to your local supervisory authority.

Third-party scripts

Most tools run on code served from filekiln.com itself. Three file tools fetch an open-source engine from the jsDelivr content delivery network when you open them: the PSD to PNG converter (@webtoon/psd), the STL to G-code slicer (cura-wasm) and the MP3 to MIDI transcriber (Spotify's Basic Pitch model). Those are ordinary downloads of code and model files. They do not include the files or text you put into a tool.

Some pages recommend a product through an affiliate link, marked as such next to the link. If you buy through one, FileKiln may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The partner learns that you arrived from FileKiln; it never sees anything you typed or converted here, because that never leaves your browser.
