FileKiln is a set of free tools for the files and data people handle every day: configs, spreadsheets, bank statements, email archives, contacts, calendars, images, 3D models and audio, plus printable fill-in templates. Each tool does one job, explains how it does it, and runs entirely on your machine.

Who makes FileKiln
FileKiln is built and run by Northline, a small independent studio that makes free, single-purpose web tools. Its sister sites follow the same approach in other fields: GradeKiln converts grades between countries' systems, ShapeKiln makes images for social profiles, MakerKiln has calculators for 3D printing and CNC work, and OfficeKiln builds printable office documents.
What the tools cover
Finance files. Bank statement to QBO, bank statement to CSV, PDF to CSV and QBO to CSV move transactions between PDFs, spreadsheets and accounting software.
Email, contacts and calendars. Open Outlook MSG files and MBOX archives without Outlook, turn vCard contacts into a spreadsheet, and read ICS calendar files.
Heavy files. Flatten Photoshop files to PNG, slice STL models into G-code, transcribe audio to MIDI, and strip metadata from PDFs.
Developer and data tools. Converters for YAML, CSV and JSON, encoders for Base64 and URLs, a JWT decoder, regex tester, cron parser and more.
Printable templates. Fill-in documents such as rent receipts, liability waivers, estimates, change orders and consent forms. You type into a form, the document builds itself on the page, and you print it or save it as a PDF.
Writing and marketing. A word counter, text diff, UTM builder, Open Graph preview and an A/B test significance calculator.
How a tool gets added
A tool ships when it does the real work inside your tab and does it honestly. That means a proper parser rather than a guess, a clear error when the input is something the tool cannot handle, and a written guide on its page that explains the format, walks through an example and lists the problems people actually run into. When a job cannot be done well in a browser yet, the tool does not exist; there is no DWG converter here for that reason.
How it stays free
Static pages cost very little to host, and the computing happens on your own device. Ads on the pages pay for the hosting. There are no accounts, no paid tiers and no limits on how many files you convert.
